OVERVIEW: This document will tell you how to play the game. This document covers these topics: Arena, Equipping, Fighting, Powerups, Upgrading, Investing, Swatlisting, Commissioner, Ranking System, Armory, Alliance, Vault, Reporting Abuse, and additional help.

Ok, Lets Begin...
ARENA:
The Arena can be accessed from the ARENA tab. The arena challengers are non-human robots which you may challenge in order to receive experience and money for accepting challenges. Qualification depends on your attack and defensive stats. Click on your EQUIP tab to see the attack and defensive stats for your current configuration. If you do not meet a certain requirement, it will show up in red text. If you do not qualify to challenge an arena competitor, try changing your equipped items in a way which will make you qualify. See EQUIPPING if you need further assistance. If you still do not qualify, visit the ARMORY to buy better equipment.

EQUIPPING:
The Equip page can be accessed from the EQUIP tab. You may equip only the items which you own. This gives you the flexibility to change your character to an all-defensive, all-offensive, or an all-around character. Your total attack and defense totals are displayed on this page. These totals are useful because you may want to challenge arena competititors with certain stat requirements, or you may want to win as many fights as possible. See FIGHTING if you want to know how to maximize your chances of winning.

Accessories: Your accessories(if applicable) are already added to your attack and defense totals. Every accessory you own will be added to your totals.

FIGHTING:
How Fights Are Decided:

When you attack: Your attack total is compared to the other person's defense total.
When you are attacked: Your defense total is compared to the the attacker's attack total.
Whoever has the dominant stat will win the fight.
What this means: It is possible to win and lose against same person depending on where you have allocated your stats.

Viewing the fightlist: You should see players of your rank, one rank below, and two ranks higher on your fightlist.

POWERUPS:
Occassionally you will find users with a powerup icon beside their name. These powerups can be stolen by knocking out the user, then attacking them once more.
Damager: A powerup which gives a temporary increase in your attack rating. This will show up as a skull icon. Your temporary attack rating will show up in red text.
Speed Demon: This will make your stat timer run 5x faster. This shows up as a glowing eye icon.
*Powerups have a total lifespan of one hour. After this, they will disappear and regenerate to a random low-ranked user.

UPGRADING:
Upon starting a new game or achieving a new rank, you will receive eight upgrade points to build your character. In order to maintain fair gameplay, upgrade points are never available through the Commissioner, however, later in the game you will have a chance to gain upgrade points at random through certain arena challengers.

INVESTING:
Invest in various companies to earn an hourly income. Investments are found under the INVEST tab.

SWATLISTING:

Place anyone here that you want taken out. Click on their name and click on "Add to Swatlist."

The Swatlist is watched by the enforcer bot Defcon. If a user has stayed on the swatlist for too long the bot will incapacitate them. A certain percentage of the bounty claimed by Defcon goes into a jackpot that will get awarded if you ever beat Defcon. Jackpot amount can be viewed by looking at Defcon's stat page after he has incapacitated you. Bounties start at $10,000 and have a max of $10,000,000 and as you increase your income, the price-per-bounty will increase.

COMMISSIONER:
The Commissioner is an optional method for advancing your character. The Commissioner offers various deals and rare weapons and accessories. Commissioner points can be obtained via completing the offers. These offers are provided by a third party service, not by MySpace. Please read the details carefully for each offer. Points are not rewarded for invalid information, and abuse of this system will result in a ban from this application. If you are missing points please click on the green Missing Points on the Commissioner page.

RANKING SYSTEM:
Your rank is based on your experience points. In your top-right corner you can see the experience points you have vs. the experience points you need to achieve the next rank. You will get a new badge and eight experience points every time you achieve a new rank.

ARMORY:
Buy equipment to make yourself more powerful. You will unlock more equipment as you advance. Buy a wide range of equipment to make your character's stats more flexible. Everything you buy must be equipped through the EQUIP page.

ALLIANCE:
Send invites to your friends. There is no need to build a group or gang in this game. MetalStorm is about YOU and YOU only. Friend invites promote MetalStorm but will not give you an advantage. MetalStorm does not support the Who-Has-The-Most-Friends-Wins approach.

VAULT:
The purpose of the vault is to safeguard your money. Your money in the vault will not be lost if you lose a fight. Your money in the vault is different from the money on hand, which is displayed in blue at the top left portion of the page. In order to use your money, you must first withdraw it from the vault.
